Our Story

The Homecoming.

Throughout the Gospels, we find Jesus coming to the dinner tables of those who would be deemed by culture and society as misfits.

Seated at the Table, symbolizes togetherness, celebrating the presence of one another, knowing that King Jesus has all called us to have a seat at the family’s feast.

In the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32, we find a son who thought he was only worthy of being a slave to his father after he had squandered the inheritance that he had asked for. The son then came to his senses and decided to return home. Upon the son’s return, the father saw him in the distance and ran to his son and welcomed him in his arms, ready to clothe him in honour, authority and dignity. The father placed the son at his purposed seat at the table, with a feast to celebrate his homecoming.

And just like the prodigal son, many of us - if not all of us, are on our journey to find home.

As a community of believers, we desire to share the transforming power of Jesus Christ. We long to bring the Good News of His Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.
Our heart is to welcome those who have yet to find a seat at the Table.

Homecoming:

  1. A return home.

  2. The return of a group of people usually on a special occasion to a place formerly frequented or regarded as home.

The name Homecoming is a perfect present continuous tense. A perfect present continuous tense is used to talk about the ongoing actions, events, or conditions that are still unfinished. In essence, we believe that the Homecoming Church would be a home to take in those who are and will be returning home to the Kingdom of God. In addition, because the grammatical tense of the word homecoming is also continuous, it stands with the words of Paul to the believers in Philippi - “...He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).”

May our ceiling be the next generation's floor! And we believe it is important to ensure that the next generation will be founded strongly in the known firm foundation, Jesus Christ.
